Project Manager
After winning a first class honours degree in graphic design at the London College of Printing, Stuart Flanagan joined Penguin Books at the invitation of Germano Facetti where he produced cover designs, publications, advertising and POS material.
Four years later, Paul Rand the creator of the IBM Logo, and Josef Muller-Brockman, head of design for IBM Europe, invited Stuart to become Design Programmes Manager for IBM UK. His career, which involved project and photo shoot management in Europe and the US, cemented IBM's reputation for excellence in brand and corporate design.
Desire for more hands-on involvement in the design process motivated his move to ACDA Limited where he managed 17 staff and guided design output for clients such as Dow Chemical, British Rail, Docklands Light Railway and Vodafone. After buying out his partner in 2000, he assumed total design control which included a six month assignment as Design Manager for IBM Europe.
In his spare time Stuart enjoys taking machines apart and putting them back together again. Those that continue to function, more or less normally, have included computers, Land Rovers, bicycles and lawn mowers.
His sense of humour is legendary.
