Reputation needs evidence beyond brand claims
A credible reputation depends on what customers experience and what others record, not only on what a brand claims. Reviews, analyst reports, ratings and forum commentary make customer experience part of the information AI systems can draw on when presenting suppliers. Start by asking what your business is known for and where that reputation is recorded. Your communications should describe the quality of customer experience clearly, connect outcomes to the problems buyers are trying to solve, and support a specific, credible point of view.
A 2025 Ahrefs analysis of brands with Domain Rating above 40 and a highest-volume keyword receiving at least 800 monthly searches found that branded web mentions had Spearman correlations of 0.709 with AI Mode visibility, 0.664 with ChatGPT visibility and 0.656 with AI Overview visibility. The practical priority is to make demonstrated experience central to your reputation, rather than relying on recognition or repeated brand claims.
