What connects our technical work to people's lives?

The connection between technical work and people's lives becomes clear when you show what the technology enables people to do and follow its effects beyond the immediate business customer. Explain the capability through a real-world application, then tell the stories of the people whose lives it touches.

Explain what the technology enables

Technical work becomes easier to understand when the story explains what it enables, rather than only describing systems, machines or services. For Tata Technologies, The Frameworks used research and stakeholder conversations to identify a shared belief: engineering is about improving human outcomes at scale. Tata Technologies was helping businesses design smarter products, accelerate digital transformation and solve complex industry challenges, but that contribution was not being communicated clearly.

The Frameworks built a narrative that balanced technical credibility with emotional clarity, supported by a storytelling platform that translated complex engineering capabilities into statements about real-world impact. The website organised content around customer challenges and industry needs rather than service listings. The practical approach is to keep the engineering substance while changing the organising question: what does the capability help a customer achieve, and how does that achievement improve human experience?

Follow the effect into people's lives

A technology story can reach beyond the business customer by following the people who benefit from the application. The Frameworks created a film for UST about its work with Nourish + Bloom Market, the first African American-owned, autonomous grocery store with robotic delivery. UST's technology powers the store, but the narrative centred on why Jilea and Jamie Hemmings founded it: inspired by their son Jabari, who is autistic, they wanted to bring good food to their community's food desert in Trilith.

The film heard from local suppliers, store workers, UST experts, shoppers and the founders' family. Their accounts connected a technical contribution to the motivations behind the store and its effects across the community. The Frameworks established the narrative, then let participants tell their stories in their own words. For a technical business, the useful practice is to trace the contribution beyond the client organisation and include the people who can describe its human significance directly.
