Audience value before technical novelty
AI investment should start with an audience need and a clear brand purpose, not with a tool's capabilities. Understanding customers, communicating with purpose and building a strong brand remain the foundations of useful marketing. Ask whether a proposed application will make an experience more meaningful or relevant, and whether it reflects the brand's purpose and consistent behaviour. Speed and efficiency are useful, but neither should define the ambition.
A 2025 survey by Content Marketing Institute and MarketingProfs, covering B2B marketers mostly in North America, found that among AI users creating content, 87% reported improved productivity, compared with 58% reporting improved content quality and 39% improved content performance. The practical priority is to use AI to strengthen customer connections and support a recognisable, trusted brand, rather than simply increase production.
