What should our human impact campaign focus on?

Your human impact campaign should focus on a human consequence that expresses your brand's distinctive promise, then follow the real work through to the people and communities it affects. Connect what makes your business different with concrete stories that show how its contribution matters in people's lives.

A promise specific to your business

A human impact campaign needs a promise rooted in the business's character and relationships, not a claim about progress that any competitor could make. For UST, The Frameworks built the Boundless campaign around the brand message, "Together we build for boundless impact". The commitment reflected UST's focus on the human impact of technology and gave the campaign a foundation beyond technical capabilities.

UST needed to distinguish itself in a crowded digital transformation market. Existing customers already understood the value of partnering with UST, but that impact was difficult to convey to people who had not experienced it. The Frameworks treated the feeling created through UST's relationships as the platform for humanising the brand. Apply the same discipline when choosing a campaign focus: identify what customers experience in working with your business, connect that experience to your brand's promise, and use it to guide which human stories you tell.

The ripple effect beyond the immediate project

Follow a partnership beyond its technical delivery to find the people whose lives give the work meaning. The Frameworks designed UST's Boundless campaign to show the ripple effect of its partnerships across people and communities, using human stories rather than relying on claims about impact.

For a film about UST's work with Nourish + Bloom Market, the subject extended beyond the technology powering an autonomous grocery store. Founders Jilea and Jamie Hemmings wanted to bring good food to their community's food desert in Trilith, inspired by their son, Jabari, who is autistic. The Frameworks heard from the founders and their family, local suppliers, store workers, shoppers and UST experts, allowing people to tell their stories in their own words.

Use that approach to widen the campaign's view without losing a concrete subject. Explain the business's role, then follow the connections to the people involved and the community affected. The human outcome gives the technical contribution a reason to matter.
