Making people visible means showing the value they bring
When clients choose a service business, they are choosing the people whose experience, judgment and collaboration will help them address their challenges. A list of capabilities does not explain that relationship. The harder task is to show how employees understand client needs, build confidence and contribute to solving problems. Start with what your clients need now and may need next, then make the relevant experience and approach of your teams visible. Interviews with employees and stakeholders can help establish what genuinely defines the business, giving its identity and communications a basis beyond general claims about service.
At First Names Group, employee and stakeholder interviews revealed a business defined by its people and the confidence and trust they instilled. The new name and visual identity put those people first, using the actual first names of every employee as a visual language. This made the business's faith in its people an explicit part of its identity in financial services.
For The Ardonagh Group, the website design used photography of real Ardonagh people in action to show the human side of a growing insurance group. Rather than presenting the portfolio as a large, faceless organisation, it highlighted the people driving its entrepreneurial businesses. The approach connected the group's stated values with visible employees for its investor and employee audiences.
