Describe the buying situation, not just the person
A useful buyer persona captures the problem someone is trying to solve, what triggered the search, the alternatives under consideration, the objections and the proof required. The Frameworks argues that personas can create a shared understanding of an audience, but should not be treated as the finished answer.
The same person looking for help with marketing performance may need a different conversation when considering brand identity. Different problems bring different competitors, pressures, buying groups and requirements for credibility. A job title alone cannot explain those differences.
For messaging, ask which questions the buyer is working through, who else is involved in the decision and what would make a proposition relevant to the situation. Use the answers to decide where to focus, what to say and what content to create, rather than assuming a single profile describes every buying conversation.
